About 3CF

About: Cork Centre for Cystic Fibrosis (3CF)

3CF (Cork Centre for Cystic Fibrosis) has expanded and evolved into its current form following its original formation in 2007. The group’s activities are divided between both clinical and research activities.

From a clinical perspective we provide both inpatient and outpatient based care for over 200 adult patients with Cystic fibrosis. Much of this care is provided in the adult Cystic Fibrosis day unit in Cork University Hospital. Inpatients are cared for in the purpose built rooms on the dedicated respiratory ward.

3CF is heavily focused on improving clinical outcomes as well as patient reported outcomes of patients with Cystic Fibrosis. Consequently research is the focus of much of the groups activities. 3CF are involved in a variety of areas of research including Randomized Control Trials (RCTs), prospective cohort studies, retrospective cohort studies, audit and more explorative research.
